Coming Up: Country Thunder

If you’re a country music fan, you do not want to miss this amazing music festival!

August 16-18

The three-day Country Thunder music festival is huge, featuring some of the biggest names in country music, as well as food, shopping, and more!

Music

Three whole days of amazing performances!  Friday kicks off the festival with newcomer Meghan Patrick (“Wild As Me”), followed by Lindsey Ell (“Shut Me Up” and “Criminal”).  After that, you’ll have the honor of seeing country legend Tanya Tucker (“Two Sparrows In A Hurricane”, “Hard Luck”, and “Love Me Like You Used To”).  The night closes out with star and the bad girl of country, Miranda Lambert (“The House That Built Me”, “Something Bad”, and “We Should Be Friends”).

Saturday brings even more stars to the stage, starting with Calgary native Greg Albright and the Not-So-Brites (“Third Time’s A Charm”) and Canadian artists Shawn Austin (“What Do I Know”) and the Hunter Brothers (“Northern Lights”).  Following them is another hot newcomer, Jordan Davis (“Singles You Up” and “Take It From Me”).  The evening ends with two of country’s A-List – Lauren Alaina (“Ladies In The 90s”, “History”, and “Like My Mother Does”) and Jake Owen (“Eight Second Ride”, “Barefoot Blue Jean Night”, and “Starting With Me”).

Sunday closes out the festival with a ridiculously strong lineup.  The day begins with Leaving Thomas (“Choose” and “Blame It On The Neon”).  After that, Aaron Tippin (“You’ve Got To Stand For Something” and “Kiss This”) stops by on his Roots And Boots Tour to perform, alongside fellow legends Collin Raye (“That’s My Story” and “I Can Still Feel You”) and Sammy Kershaw (“She Don’t Know She’s Beautiful” and “Third Rate Romance”).  At 5 PM, Jimmie Allen (“Make Me Want To”) goes onstage, showing off the future of country music.  The evening’s headliners are Terri Clark (“Better Things To Do”, “Poor Pitiful Me”, and “Boy Meets Girl”) and Jason Aldean (“Dirt Road Anthem”, “She’s Country”, and “Flyover States”).

Food

Expect to see a wide variety of food vendors, from Homestead Burgers to Mardi Gras Grill to Ms. Mac And Cheese, as well as various booths where you can get beer, wine, liquor, or cocktails.  The food is delicious, and everyone is sure to find something they enjoy.  If you want something sweet, try a deep-fried oreo!

Country Thunder is one festival you definitely don’t want to miss, so get your tickets and pack your cowboy boots!
