It’s getting chilly, so keep warm with our favorite eats and drinks around town!

Hot Chocolate: Waves

Catching up with a Chilliwack #Hospice #Volunteer today at @wavescoffeegarrison I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know a handful of our community volunteers. Hearing their story and getting to know them has been a highlight of working for a not-for-profit. Volunteers are an instrumental part of any #community. They’re the heart of any foundation. I try to volunteer as much as I can, but I always wish it could be more. If you are interested in volunteering in the Fraser Valley, you can find opportunities at this website www.volunteerfv.com • • • #volunteers #chilliwack #fraservalley #fraservalleyvolunteers #wavescoffee #garrisonvillage #ilovevolunteering #lemonloaf #whitehotchocolate

Everyone loves hot chocolate, but the best cup is always made with real melted chocolate and milk.  Waves uses Belgian chocolate, mixed with steamed milk for a rich cup of cocoa.  Opt for dark chocolate for the most indulgent experience.

Latte: Deville Coffee

Deville Coffee offers a seasonal white chocolate pumpkin spice latte that is amazing!  The chocolate adds a creaminess to the fall flavors of the pumpkin spice, turning it into a caffeinated cookie in a cup.  It’s the perfect beverage to warm you up in the mornings as you start your day.

Soup: Primal Soup Company

It’s a tomato basil and grilled cheese kind of day, and we’re serving up both!

If you’re a fan of soup, Primal Soup Company is amazing.  Their creamy tomato basil soup is a classic flavor done well, perfect with crackers if you’re feeling under the weather or just want to feel at home.  For the more adventurous, looking for new flavors, try the African Peanut Soup, which has pumpkin, a bit of spice, and fresh vegetables balancing out the sweet and salty of the peanuts.

Chili: Big T’s BBQ

Made with tender brisket, the chili at Big T’s packs enough spice to warm you up but not so much that your taste buds die.  The cheddar cheese provides the perfect, classic contrast to the rich dish, and the tortilla chips add the perfect crunch.  If you’re looking for a hearty chili, this is likely the best spot in Calgary.

Poutine: N9NA

Fall doesn’t start until you eat poutine.  N9NA makes it special by adding some buffalo chicken, a new but surprisingly necessary addition.  The buffalo sauce adds a bit of heat to the dish that only elevates the curds.  If you really enjoy spicy dishes, have them add buffalo seasoning to the fries as well!

Macaroni and Cheese:  Vintage Chophouse

For the best macaroni and cheese, go to Vintage Chophouse.  You can get it with lobster, but without is just as good.  They use gouda cheese for the sauce and add white truffle oil, contributing an earthiness that grounds the dish and really rounds out the flavors.

Warm up with your favorite comfort foods from the best restaurants around the city!
